We are excited to announce our 2023 Sensational Summer Art Contest!
Culture is how we celebrate the arts, so this year, we invite you to show us how you celebrate through the seasons - summer and the winter holidays!
The international juried contest is open to all young artists aged 5-16 (competing only with those in the same age category). Choose from one of the 3 themes or enter as many times as you like! When you enter for all themes, you become eligible for the Multi-Talent Award.
You may submit 2 entries per theme, each theme must be accompanied by its own application and fee. Winning entries plus finalists work will be published in a special edition full-color publication, with a possible exhibition at our Lunar New Year Spectacular on the Dream Stage at American Dream, NJ, USA.

All contestants have until August 20, 2023 to submit their work. We will announce the first round of results in the first week of September. All entries must be original work, conforming to the specifications listed below, to be submitted electronically. The winning entries will continue further in the contest and have a chance to be presented and publicized at our annual holiday events in the coming season.

We encourage all works of art to focus on the rituals and joys of celebrations and how life is celebrated across cultures and seasons. Some specific requirements for each THEME is listed below.

☑ Size Specifications: 14” x 11” or 9” x 12”
☑ Any visual arts medium is welcome. No limits!
[ HOLIDAYS IN WINTER WONDERLAND ]
☑ This is a poster design contest. Artwork must be large enough to enlarge into a poster without being pixelated.
☑ Required visual elements: Winter holidays - Christmas, Hanukkah, or whatever you celebrate; New York; Young People.
☑ Required Text on Poster Design:
2024 Starbright Winter Wonderland

Date: 12/23/2023☑ Size Specifications: 14” x 11”, must be portrait.
☑ We are looking for original paintings and drawings created primarily with traditional 2D mediums including water and oil based media (watercolor, acrylic, casein, gouache, oil pastel)

☑ Visual elements to include: Lunar New Year; lucky dragon; fortune; New Year Wishes.

The best work will be selected as our 2023-2024 Winter Wonderland Poster and receive a $200 cash prize.

The best work will be presented at our 2024 American Dream Lunar New Year Spectacular and receive a $100 cash prize.
12 winning entries will be selected and published in the Year of the Dragon calendar. Each winning entry will receive a cash prize of $50, a certificate, and the printed edition of the calendar.
Honorary Mentions will receive Certificates. 👍
